Vasileios Ch. Petrakos served as Epimelete and Ephor of Antiquities from 1959 to 1994. Since 1988 he has been the General Secretary of the Archaeological Society at Athens, from 2000 a full member of the Academy of Athens, and since 2010 the General Secretary of the Academy.
