CHRISTAKIS, VASSILIS

Vassilis Christakis was born in Washington, DC, in 1973, and grew up in Thessaloniki, Greece. He studied history and international relations in Brown and Georgetown Universities and as an exchange student in Sciences Po and Université de Paris I in Paris, France, for a year. Since 2000, he works in an international financial institution and is an amateur fencer. In collaboration with his wife, Cristina Tamariz Cabezas, he participated in the publication of “Mapas Antiguos de America Latína: 1500-1800”, which describes the history of cartography in Latin America, and especially in Ecuador, by the late collector Μatthias Abram. He speaks English, French, Spanish, and Russian. He is married with two daughters, Inés and Yanna.
