Born in Athens in 1954. He studied Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens 1972-1977 and took his MSc Degree in Architectural Conservation at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland (1977-1979). In 1997 he was awarded a doctorate in Architectural History from the NTUA on the topic of 16th century ecclesiastical architecture in Central Greece. After a brief engagement with the restoration of traditional buildings in the Arab countries as an employee of the Doxiadis Office (1981-1983), he became a civil servant working at the Mount Athos Heritage Preservation Center in Thessaloniki, occupied in the maintenance of traditional buildings in Mount Athos and later in the Ministry of Culture. In 1993, after 10 years in public service, he resigned and founded the Architectural Bureau of Special Studies "Sotiris Voyadjis and Associates" and is still privately occupied with restoration studies of traditional buildings and the rehabilitation of traditional city centers. He considers that his most important projects he has dealt with are the Nea Moni in Chios, the Panagia Skripou in Boeotia, the monastery of Agios Ioannis Theologos in Patmos and Panagia Ekatontapyliani in Paros. At the same time he is occupied with the History of Architecture. He has authored 3 books and about 50 articles in specialist journals, and has repeatedly appeared with lectures and announcements at conferences and other events.
