Beler follows for three critical days one of the foremost literary figures of the twentieth century, as husband, father, author, as a man trapped in a historical milieu that leads him to an intractable dilemma. Given that his diary sheds little light on these days, the novel fills the void, without deviating from the historical incidents. It describes a conflict that reflects a panhuman nightmare: the loss and the confusion of the moral consequences of what is right and what is wrong.
